ParenteralNutrition is a nutritional calculator designed by and for health-care practitioners to calculate nutritional requirements and formulations for adult patients. Enter patient's age, height, weight and select gender to calculate estimated Kcals/day. Select activity factor, protein requirement and click TPN or PPN.You may accept the estimated Kcals/day calculated or enter your own, then select the volume/rate. Click '2-in-1' or '3-in-1' to get your final concentrations below. Final concentrations are in g/day, (%), Kcals, NPC:N ratio, and GIR (mg/kg/min). Protein and NPC-lipid % can be adjusted through the incremental arrows.Thus allowing you to do 'what if' senarios to optimally select the best formulation with corresponding changes to final concentrations, NPC:N ratio and GIR for your patient. Preferences can be set for PPN max. osmolarity, pharmacy bulk concentrations and height/weight units of measure.The DEMO version does not allow you to change age, weight, height or Kcals.
